The Honey Harbour Historical Society proudly installed a commemorative plaque outlining the efforts and skill of the local boat building industry during the Second World War.
Between 1941 and 43, the Honey Harbour branch of the Port Carling Boatworks built 10 Fairmile class patrol boats and 2 Lake class minesweepers in 1944/5 for the Allied Naval Forces.
